Pegging Gassers

Well, got to love it when people are bold enough to enter a crit'ed wormhole for anything. No Ze, not talking to you.

This morning started out normal, everyone checking in and getting ready for work. Ge sent out a log-in text when I was almost to the door. So, like good neighbors, we are there. One guy in a drake, and probes out. Must be a day-tripper.

Two minutes later, Ge says hole-fire and announces a Moa entering. The two of them end up sitting in a gas site as we load up a hictor and PvP Drakes. Ge gets eyes on the day-trippers, while we get in position. The Drake warps off, and all of us wait. The pilot returns in a Vexor! Even better.

SS announces sleepers have spawned, we wait while they fight a few of them. The wrecks make great warp-ins, and SS announces the Moa is picking up sleeper guts. We warp in, while SS pilots and damps the Vexor. The Moa heads to the exit, with GE waiting on the exit, the Moa warps off again.

We make short work of the Vexor, the pilot warps to the exit and leaves. Ze drops the hictor on the exit, while the Moa lands just out of reach. SS grabs a Proteus and starts combat-scanning, twenty minutes later we have the Moa pointed on the exit, the pod makes it through and survives.

We finish off the sleepers, and salvage everything. Ze closes the hole, correctly and everyone heads to work.

Killing a data site

The morning crew logs on, we check the system and find our Highsec to be crit. A second sig shows up as a yet unbook-marked K162 to unknown space. We roll through and crit the K162 and crash the Highsec. JOY!

We grab our isk-making-machines and load up for a Data Site that has been on the back burner for four days. Ya, four days, it should have been dead by now. SS is providing overwatch, while the rest of us gang warp into the site. The site is wrong, very wrong! To many sleepers on the first wave, Sa assigns targets while we plink away.

Ge announces drones in the site, while Ze says this appears to be part of wave one and wave two. We all come to the conclusion that someone tagged the site just after we logged off the previous morning. SS gives us a name, and sure enough the corp ticker matches the drones. SS spotted a CLAMC pilot entering just as he was in warp to log, bummer we couldn't have stayed away from work.

We clean up the site, grabbing all the salvage and reverse engineering stuff. Ge makes certain to grab the loose drones, he says he will clean the system up later in the evening. Since we have the K162 crit, and tripple Hictor'ed no one would bother with entering... except Ze did. Ze scanned his way out of the ajoining hole and text us he was in highsec again. I think Ze caught the dumbs while travelling.

Troubles with Neighbors.

Last night, I got on a bit late. Quick scanning showed what I expected, plus a new k162 to ‘Dangerous Space’. One quick text later, I suddenly see a myrmidon and a pod warp around the system. I get back to the K162, and dscan the two leaving via the highsec exit. More texts, and we get everyone onboard. The neighbors appeared to be moving ships out of the ajoining hole. As I wait and watch, I see the same two pilots, get joined by a third. Un.bound pilots, slowly moving ships out of the hole. Must be my lucky day!

I lined up a hictor and two Drakes, while I watched from my perch above the highsec. Our trusty Falcon pilot watched from a perch at the k162. SS calls out “hole fire”, just as the 2 Drakes and Onyx land. Bubble goes up, and a Manticore decloaks, dies and gets podded. I don’t get on the kills, but I am satisfied with the results.

People warp back to the PoS and we get ready for a hole roll, we land on the n968 and drop through. The hole closes with Ze and SS on the wrong side, dscan suddenly shows an Apocalypse. The rest of us PoS-up, and evaluate the new ships.

We grab some recons and try to lure the ship off the hole, we get a hole fire and we warp off quick like. A Hurricane appears to join the Battleship, we grab Scorpions and use a safe to bounce 100km off the hole. Neither ship leaves the safety of the k162, words are spoken and we head to the highsec. Once through, we see Curse and a HAC.

We wait for ten minutes while Ze and SS scan their way to the highsec side from C6 space, SS lands and jumps through immediately. He jumps right back with the report of six ships waiting for us, plus the two we are watching.

Sa tells us to hit a station and fire up the BBQ. We log out, and start a nice dinner to unwind. An hour or so later, we are bringing in scouts to watch the hole. Loading up one person at a time, until we are all back in the hole. The CEO of the opposing team logs out, we roll his hole shut and crit the highsec.

Everyone finishes cleaning up and we log for the night. One Bomber kill and lots of excitement for the night, now that is Content.

Morning Warnings

Ge texted the gang and reported NoHo pilots blanketing the home hole with combat probes. He noted that he had seen four unique ship names, and saw five sets of probes. Good job Ge! The rest of us stayed out of the hole, and perhaps we will check it tomorrow.

No much else to report. Ge is still reverse engineering, GK is getting less active, the rest of us are waiting for school to start. The summer flux of kids will be gone, hopefully in three weeks.

Production Blues

Ge got his wish, a brand new shiny Medium Ship Assembly Array. Which he promptly used to resupply our cruiser department. Yes Virginia, there is an Industrial Wing.

He also ran out of minerals after six runs of BPCs, producing 30+ cruisers. Our set of labs were upgraded for the reverse-engineering push on the Tech 3 subsystems. All in all, a boon to our home-spun industrialist. Sa had Ge turn all the defenses back on as soon as he was done, Ge barely even grumbled.

Further news, we took a few pokes at the neighbors. Nothing really killed this weekend, as soon as we aproach our targets with T3s they run... Time to down-scale to interceptors and dictors! The experiment with using a Ferox to replace my Drake-isk-making-machine proved the Rail-Ferox to be inferior. Next is the Blaster-Ferox! My bet it isn't going to work either.

Podding

Last night just before the end of shift, I see someone has died in the home hole. Soon as I got home, on and hunting! I find two wrecks, a corpse and a named pod wandering around.

I sent an invitation to the name on the pod, it gets rejected. So, hunting rifle in hand, I dscan him down. Finding the itterant pod just off his ships wreck. One book mark and two warps later, I have him scrambled and popped. Scoop and shoot the wrecks and alert the crew.

I find that only myself and SS are available, so I recon the local k162. Soon as I am in warp, presto! A Curse and a Myridon warp to the connection and jump through, later a third BC parks on the connection as 'bait'. SS tells me the Curse cloaked up, and the Myridon deployed drones and is orbiting at 2500 meters out.

Both of us make perches and wait them out. Since it is just the two of us, engaging a known three pilots is bad. Especially since they will have the home field advantage. Twenty minutes later, they pack it in. Soon as the Myridon and Cane are in warp ( I didn't see the Curse again ), I drop onto the static and warp away.

Later the next morning, SS tells me the neighbors had been scouting the home hole. Since a Proteus is fairly well know, SS kept warping and 'accidently' dropping the cloak. This kept them hopping, and fairly subdued.

Our moring roll went well, and I am sure the neighbors will be grateful for a new static.

Sneaky scout, again

I have the suspicion that a scout is living in our home, again. Our fun with the statics openning three hours after we roll them closed, all the sites having the sleepers spawned. Specifically the Gas sites, and none of the gas has been harvested. We haven't seen probes, but we did find a static rolled shut... almost like we were being camped. No sleepers have died while we were not there, and the data sites not despawning after being harvested... just lingering.

Everything points to a scout, or an invasion.

To top it all off, the static and exits are not bahaving like they should right after downtime. A wormhole exit will be 5-8k off it's spawn point the first time it is activated after downtime. This makes it very easy to determine if someone has been to that exit. My early morning scouting, has not had a single exit behave correctly for three days. Very disturbing.

Quick Burn

A quick look around, and we roll like people possessed. We burn down our sleeper crop, grab what little gas is avilable and bring in a months worth of ice products.

This morning brings news of four gas sites spawning overnight, and no combat sites to speak of. We are connected to another c3 with loads of sites, and belonging to The Yulai Federation. The Yulai is a NRDS Alliance, based out of Providence.

The Yulai are also in a civil war of sorts against Of Sound Mind. You can read up on them in Reddit or other blogs. The odd-ball part of this is their presence in a WH. What are they doing? Trying to straddle NS and WH space? Maybe I should drop an alt and sell the exit to Surely Your Joking, they have a sense of humor.

Crashing a connection.

This weekend, we lost an Onyx and a Scorpion. Afterwards, I learned Ge had taken a poke at a warp-stabbed retriever. And so, the offended retriever pilot and friends were waiting for us during our hole-rolling. A heads-up would have been nice Ge.

During the fight, Ze ( who has returned ) warped his pod away from the destroyed Onyx. While Ge lost a Scorpion in the opposing hole, I ended up crashing the connection. Stranding me, with Ge's pod on the wrong side.

Sa's fast thinking managed to get a Scorpion out, and I managed to jam and tackle a Hurricane in the opposing hole. The fleet quietly left our home, while I lost point on the Hurricane. Probing the new exit ended up putting us in another hole, and finally in Lowsec.

Ge grabbed a pre-fit Scorpion in Jita ( we had a few extra from an op, almost four months ago ) and Sa picked up a shiny new Onyx. While we were reshipping our losses, Ge grabbed a new Geddon and pimped it out... Personally, I think the Geddon is going to be lost fairly fast.

We also took a trip across the water and toured Bainbridge Island on bikes. The locals were friendly, and we ended up eatting at the 'Grub Hut' in Kingston. Good times were had by all.

ECM

Last night a Loki dropped into the hole as we were rolling, Sa called him out and we dropped drakes and a hictor to engage. He cloaked and sat idling for almost an hour, we went back to rolling. We get disconnected just as we warped to the PoS.

After resetting the connection (again), we each log on and start poking around to see where our visitor went. Well, he sent Sa a nasty-gram accusing us of not bringing enough ECM to the field. Our hole rolling crew usually uses Scorpions, similiar to this fitting found on Talocan's old site. Sa was polite, and we laughed at the poor sod, told him "your tears fuel me." After a few rounds of words, he accused us of being french. That was hilarious, and Sa sent the mail to everyone to share in the tears generated.

While we were rolling, a gang of T3s rolled through highsec and loitered just off a gate... pretty sure the Loki was an advanced scout for them. Luckily we had someone not on our connection, cloaked and scouting the system. We don't want to get a repeat of Ge's drake loss from a roaming highsec gang.

After the long roll, everyone reshipped and started killing sleepers. More gas was reacted and the ore site was activated. We actualy had one of each of the four combat sites available last night, pretty amazing. Our discussion on fits seems to be coming to an and, we will be changing out an EM rig for a second Purger, swapping the passive EM module for an active, and finally dropping a shield recharger for a long point. Removing the inactive probe launcher from high, and tentatively moving a remote shield module in it's place.

I am not a fan of the spider tanking, I think we should take a lesson from the Alliance Tourney and go with a Tinker-tank setup. With activity on the rise, having everyone with a point might just get a few more kills. Not having to swap ships and going for a faster kill. The other option is to scrap my beloved Drake for another BC and Rails.

Time will tell.

P.S. Space Potatoe, just say no!

FREEDOM!

Yup, we are out of the alliance, and I am damn glad of it! We are now free to target and harass targets of our choice. Ya, I am looking at you, PoS in HS with no FF! Goodies and drops await our eager blasters.

No activity in the hole last night, all of us are recovering from the weekend. The War in Fountain is over(ish). Alliance Tourney is fun to watch, and a learning experience.

GK announced another payout, and depressing news about the nano-ribbon market. The market is sucking right now. Ge is moving his skills towards T3 Subsystem production, and yet still has time to replace his lost Drake. Ze is headed home, and should be back late this week... guess I should have used his toon more agressively. Sa is talking about moving scouts around, and releasing our old C2 from the watch list.

The AWOX alt is now in a PvE Corp, and looking for a decent target.

Being baited, again, and again, and again...

Ge lost a Drake this weekend, our buddies from Failed Diplomacy baited with a Loki. I managed to jump out to HS, unfortunately Ge was polorized and warped his pod out. With this being said, they had a hictor with them and didn't use it. So we all went our seperate ways and I put a scout on either hole to watch their antics.

The hictor had a cloak, and a single bubble generator. Which the gang used repeatedly to try and snare people jumping into our home hole. Yup, actions of someone multi-boxing.

Followed by; this morning antics, new 'bait' same tricks. Two attempts at a probe, then a loki and hictor pop into the home hole... new shields on the ship's name didn't fool me. I had all the people from the previous attempt red-listed and 'friend'ed. Combat probes kept appearing in the hole while I waited my timers out, silly griefer-bears from highsec. The same corp that war-decced us a couple of weeks ago, now in an alliance. Go figure.

-----

This weekend was rather fruitful, we managed to farm out the hole and start the reaction arrays (again). A double k162 from NS ended up appearing, we collapsed one hole with me and Ze ( in a hictor ) 23 jumps out from lowsec on the wrong side!

The null-bears kept bringing people in, bubbling gates and being obnoxious. I went out and made Sa's favourite breakfast, BACON! After having a leisurely breakfast, we came back and started scouting our way out of BoT's ( Brothers if Tangra ) systems.

Probing down each system as we went, I manged to find a NS-to-NS hole. This dropped us 3 jumps from lowsec, and a mere 12 jumps to the home hole. During our slow progress to safety I found PoS minus a forcefield, ten minutes later with loot in hand we exited null and went on our merry way.

----

The Alliance is failscading fast, what a way to wake up on Sunday. The alliance is down to 43 people, with our group being the largest corporation left. People got butt-hurt and removed themselves from the allaince... all of the big players left, and left us with 10ish 1-3man corps. Personally, this is great news. I am pestering Ge to get us out, while the getting is good.

Friday, July 26, 2013

What is that?!?!

Our morning was interrupted by a blip on dscan. Unfortunately only SS got on the kill, while the rest of the crew were closing holes. A second blip was missed and jumped back into highsec, silly people.

So the story as I heard it. SS was holding station over the K162, while the rest of us were in warp to the HS. The blip was a retriever, which was using our home as a transit station. SS decloaked and burned to the offending retriever, only to have it jump through the K162. She then jumped and tackled, which the retriever then jumped back to our home hole.

SS then jumped back, both of them polarized and went for the tackle again. The rest of us were in warp back to the K162 when SS killed the retriever, the pod warped off. Loot-n-shoot, followed by another round of closing with a hictor.

While we were headed back to the K162 to highsec, SS stayed on the now despawned hole. Lucky she did, she almost got a Talos kill, and instead he rushed back to the HS and jumped back out. We closed the K162 to HS and headed back to the static.

With only one kill for the morning, and the hole semi-secure we all headed to work. With dreams of explosions in our eyes!

Internet up, and sleepers burn.

Sa got the internet cable hooked up last night, and ran system tests all night while we slept. This morning, Sleepers dies by the droves. Everyone is happy again!

During our morning roll, we were interupted by a cloaky Loki, which immediately burned back to his hole jumped back in and we followed. SS was left watching the hole, while we dropped drones and tried to tackle the Loki.

So, tackling using Scorpions was fun... and fruitless. Loki ran away, we came back and closed the hole. No one else interrupted our morning prayers to Bob.

Internet still spotty

Internet is still going down, the tech installed a new filter and told Sa it was the phone line to the modem. The tech was kind enough to give Sa 50ft of line to install. He WILL be doing that tonight!

In other news, we have partially farmed the hole and started production lines back up. Ge was nearly giddy with his new assembly array, until he tried to run a print. He still has a month to go, to start making full sub-systems. The guy almost cried.

The inflitration alt is slowly moving gear to his next target. Internet keeps resetting, what a drag. The new targets were so kind in showing an Orca fit for PvP. They have been targetted by a group of bumper and 'miner liscenses'. So, I am going to provide some overwatch... with my AWOX machine. Got to love it when people line up in front of the gun.

Monday, July 22, 2013

Stupid Internet

Our shared connection was glitching all weekend. Every 5 to 30 minutes we would lose our connection... Sa ripped all the phones and filters out of the house to isolate the problem. The problem is not in the house, it is out in the street. So, Tuesday we might see a fix.

The weather is good, we BBQed and rode bikes instead.

Infiltration alt is on his next target, it is looking like an AWOX is coming around. An Orca and a small fleet of mining barges is available three times a week, talk about timing your ops. Now I just need a stable internet.

HAC vs Drake

I am deeply saddened by the thought that my beloved Drake-isk-making-machine is becoming obsolete. The new HAC changes look great, add in the hybrid/ac changes and things start looking so much better for HACs and Hybrid Cruisers. Missile nerfs and the Drake nerf have left me with little choice but to shop for a more efficient and cheap replacement for my Drake-isk-making-machine.

HAC changes look great, I mean it, those buffs look good... insurance, and effectiveness look inversely proportional. With a nasty curve. I don’t get double my fun for double the price, and if I lose a Betty-Crocker I only get a cheesy wrapper.

Pushing the corp to change over to Rail Battle Cruisers seems correct. I would rather fly something I can afford to replace… which in wormhole-space always happens.

100

This is my 100th post!

Since I have begun blogging, I have yet to receive any comments. This has not stopped me. Blogging is likened to a diary, a very visable diary. And so, I blog to remember what has happened.

-----

In Wormhole news, we were chased out of the home hole last night by a group of dedicated killers. They tried multipul times to kill Ge, who casually slipped away. What the gang didn't realize, we had scouts out and watching their antics.

Wardec continues with more people wanting to ally with us for isk... One man corporations wanting to be paid big money for zero effort. New scam, same verse. Lucky for us, I suppose, our friends in TAXU joined the fight and have been actively looking for targets.

Production has been slow, sales have been low, Fountain still rages.

Breaking the rules.

Our normal set of rules have not been published on the net, only shared between members... who all know each other in real life. Or as Sa calls it, Face-punching-range. After much discussion, I am posting our rules for wormhole operations on my blog.

-----------------
Worm Hole Rules
By: The Cats
1) You do not discuss operations, rules or policies with outside entities (Corps, Alliances, and “Friends”).
 a) No smack-talk, no talking in Local in any wormhole. Do not give away free intel, by announcing yourself and the corporation
 b) No announcing or leading anyone into the Wormhole, without director permission.
 c) Ships, fits and who flies them is not open knowledge. Do not share your personal fits with non-corp members (discussion is fine, posting is not).

2) Scouting and scanning skills are required.
 a) You will have an alt-scout logged out in the home hole at all times.
 b) Book marks will be standardized; statics, exits and anoms in the home hole will be updated daily, and kept fresh in the Corporation Book mark folder.
 c) Safes will not be shared. If a safe is burned due to probing or accidents, an AAR will be filed.
 d) All players will have a warp-while-cloaked ship, for their primary character for scouting. Alts may use expendable cloak-while-stationary ships.

3) Operations in the hole.
 a) No operation will occur until all holes are rolled shut and the home hole is secured. Rolling shut a k162 into a known occupied system will not be accomplished without a dedicated scout watching (and cloaked).
 b) If any signature appears during an operation, or any unannounced probes, ships or wrecks are seen, all operators are suspended until the hole is secured.
 c) Mining and gassing will not occur until sleepers from the site are cleared. Warp bubbles are suggested at the signature of the site being processed.
 d) PvP is hazardous; attacking another player is a private call. If you do not successfully eliminate a
player in the home hole, an Eve-mail will be sent corp wide announcing the situation. Successful elimination of a player in the home hole will require re-securing the home hole before any other operations may continue. AAR will be filed if any PvP occurs. “GFs” in wormhole local is not allowed.
 e) PvE ships are up to the individual, suggested fits can be found online or discussed with corp-mates.
 f) Exiting the wormhole. Warping directly to a ‘d-scannable’  bookmarked wormhole is acceptable, otherwise warp to a safe to see if the hole is clear prior to warping directly to it. This includes picking up PI materials.
 g) Planetary Interaction material pick-up will only occur after the home hole is secured. If you get nailed while on a POCO, it is your fault.

4) Naming conventions.
 a) Shields before your ship name are copy-able from the d-scan window. Do not trust them.
 b) Each person will have a designator after their ship name, to identify who it belongs to.
 c) Signatures will be named; Type – Three letter designator – actual name.
 d) Wormholes will be named; Type (K162, etc) Series (a, b, c, etc…) – Time or stability (EOL, Crit).
 e) Inflammatory naming is not acceptable. Racial slurs, sexism, agism, personal threats are against the EULA.

5) System defense and general notes.
 a) PvP is personal, engaging a larger fleet is not advised. Call for back-up, bring friends.
 b) Be very wary if the player, or players are orange to our corporation. Do not engage alone if the players are marked red to our corporation, past encounters and advanced knowledge may be in play. Engaging neutrals is acceptable. Blues and light blues may travel across the home hole. Anyone harvesting, shooting sleepers or loitering in the home hole is fair game, this includes blues.
 c) We do NOT harvest or shoot sleepers in 'Blue' holes.
 d) It is advisable to train starbase defense to four, and anchoring to three.
 e) Asset denial is acceptable play, eliminating wrecks with loot ( including sleeper wrecks ) to remove potential earnings is acceptable.

Mid week lows

Nothing going on, no kills, no mining, no decent exits. The alliance is quieter than a bathroom at church, I don't think they are logging in at all. On an up-note, GK posted our earnings fo the last two weeks and it was pretty good.

Ge has been more active than the rest of us, and has continued his effort to convert our existing stocks of gasses to something more profitable. He is also chomping at the bit to refine our current stock of ores, not likely to happen until we get a decent exit.

Nothing to see here

We have been wardec'ed! Huzzah!!!

No really, some asshat thought it would be full of lolz to dec us. Funny thing is, they only live in Rens. We don't live in Rens... we don't live in k-space. So, "Nothing to see here" move along.

On the Anoikis side of town, we had a quiet Friday and Saturday to clear and clean up the hole. Rolling rolling rolling, keeps those K162s rolling. Sunday was totally different, with an odd pair (Gnosis and Navy Vexor) in the hole and scanning from our static.

Our static was closed and unopenned when we went to sleep Saturday, guess we had visitors. No K162s were present after our fun, so they must not have liked our home and rolled it shut. Trying not to get ahead of myself.

So, I ran the people downstairs and fired up Sa's computer... and logged Ze in by accident. He didn't mind and kept things moving. We formed up and got ready for a quick tackle of the Gnosis with a Hawk. Pod warped off and the Vexor dropped in at 100km.

Sa/Ze warped back to the PoS and grabbed a Hictor and set up an ambush on the static. The Vexor was smart enough not to try and jump directly to the static and had a tactical at 100km set up. Personally, I would have set up a 150+km tactical in case I needed to escape quickly. Ge and SS were in scouty Tengus and kept cloaked.

I dropped combat probes and started a 45 minute chase across the home system, while the Tengus prowled around the static, waiting to pounce. The Pod and Vexor racing around, and I kept missing by mere kilometers. Finally, he made a mistake and dropped a can. I book marked it and followed him into warp, then hit scan one more time.

He had used the pod to create a safe 200km from the can, I landed on him and tackled. Calling in the reinforcements, Sa/Ze brought the hictor in to get the Pod of the Vexor. While we were finishing off that Pod, SS warped back to the Can and nabbed the Pod from the Gnosis.

I am fairly certain it was a dual boxer, the Gnosis was discovery/probe fit with four fitting mods in the lows. The Navy Vexor was drone fit, also fairly poorly. The PODS!!! ZOMG!?!?! One was a learning Pod worth 750mil, the second was 1.75Bil with a Mining Foreman link.

We also nabbed a T1 scout and Pod later in the day, it wasn't as intense as the earlier battle...

Pondering the news on fits

The Allaince think-tank, more of a puddle really, has designed some new fits. They look like EFT-warrior crap, and these are supposed to be for newer members. Cap-stable garbage with no points... it hurts, it really does.

Our builds are based on personal skills, practice and of course feedback from each other. I dont expect everyone to have identical fits, just smart fits that fuction as intended. Points are always liked, and cap stable is not even on the list. One minute with a prop-mod on, three minutes free firing, self-rep acceptable, so are passive recharge shields. Being able to handle 400dps incoming and 300dps outgoing, omni-tanked is required. Either 60km range, or prop-mod with 20km range.

That should cover it....

Gud fites

We have been discussing our dalliance with the alliance. They keep derping, we keep laughing. Until now.

A conversation was posted by our diplomat, about a recent encounter with another wormhole alliance. They wanted a 'Gud Fite' and even offered a 3vs3, 2vs2, 1vs1, and a 1vs2. The diplo passed... this is a dangerous thing to do.

If you live in Anoikis you know these guys, http://mabricksmumblings.blogspot.com/2013/05/surely-youre-joking.html. Yes, Surely You're Joking, isn't a joke. They are looking for good fights, not Gud Fites. If you blue-ball them enough, they will evict you.

Constantly denying fights in wormhole space is not uncommon, it is however fraught with danger. People will start camping you, I have. Spending weeks in a hole to keep killing the same people over and over, I haven't evicted people on my own. I have had people pack it all in and leave wormhole space... or at least the hole I am camping. Surely You're Joking will evict you, so will other 'hard-core' PvP alliances/corporations.

Being associated with people who will blue-ball, when they have enough people online to fullfil those 3vs3 and not coming out to play. Well, it may be enough to move us out of that alliance. Even if those same people are not living in the same hole as us.

Getting the clock cleaned

Our esteemed alliance mates once again show us how to lose a blinged out cruiser, to invaders. Details are still sketchy, pretty sure they were not using d-scan and the updated discovery scanner correctly. The losses were 900mil and 350mil, a Tengu and a Command Potatoe.

We cleaned out our home hole, and dashed back to k-space for refining. Our liquid cash has taken a dumpster dive recently, our buyer of exotic parts has completely shut down his production in NS due to the Fountain conflict. It looks like all those sleeper guts will be headed to market in the coming days, luckily we moved them out to k-space prior to our vaccation.

Ge has kick-started his labs again, and it looks like he will be moving them to Minmatar space next week. Security in Anoikis is not good enough for the isk he has been laying out, so back to K-space.

Ze is still out of country, so I am not expecting him to log in anytime soon. He is already loosing sec!

4th of July

We spent the 4th in sunny Tahoe, watched the fireworks over the lake and enjoyed the weather. Not one of us logged in all weekend, no one was home. There were deaths in the home hole, people killing sleepers and we wern't there.
<br><br>
Returning to the home system was fun, it was great to talk to the people down-stairs and fire up the isk making machine once again. Clearing the gas sites left behind by our unknown friends and finding a sweet couple of kills by the PoS.
<br><br>
Ge has fired up the production facilities and we are back. PvP will come later, right now we are enjoying the sun and road of western Washington. Don't bother shooting us, we don't care.

Where is my ITTY?

I am utterly disgusted on the new itteration of Industrials... they are awesome! Unfortunately we have been using Hoarders for PI for years, and we need replacements A.S.A.P. Jita is sold out or hugely overpriced, GK missed out on that.

We had a few singletons spread out in k-space, so we have been bringing a few back into the hole. Not nearly enough for everyone, so back to sharing. The Hoarders will be sent back to Jita or scrapped for minerals.

Due to the loss of our hoarders, Ge broke out his slide-rule and brought in BPOs for the Ittys we will need. He had forseen this event two years ago, and had in his BPO collection Itty I, II, III and V. So the corp spotted him for a IV. Production will be for our needs and then the BPOs will go back into what ever station Ge keeps his stash.

For such a dedicated industrialist, Ge has started to gain some good scouting and kills under his belt. Maybe he can make me an Azaru?

Little out, little in

Our fun filled group tackled and killed a few ships this weekend, and were promtly shut down when a new k162 showed up. The group that boiled out of wormhole space were faster, larger and more overpowering than we can muster. So, we made our kills and went on a motorcycle ride. Ate lunch at a seedy bikerbar, and were oogled by old men in leather.

We got back, all the holes were rolled and all the anoms were cleared or stripped. It was a bummer, but hey, it is summer. We expect to get invaded on a regular basis. Check out Talocan's old allaince site, it is still smart on being invaded.

The recent posting of SYJ's major kill of over 500Bil is amazing, sad that most of the material didn't drop. Makes assaulting a system, not so worth while. This makes assaulting a system either revenge, or defense against interlopers. Sad state of affairs.

In other news, the western USA is still in a heat-wave. Multiple brown outs due to over use of electricity are being reported. That just might keep the kiddies in line... maybe.

Waking the dead.

Well, it is that time of year, Summer. All the noobs, and younger-not-working-people fly about in space looking like a burger at the beach. Yes, hungry pirates and pvp junkies are having a blast right now... literally.

It was after bed time, and I got the text from downstairs. We have miners in the wormhole, and we love a good gank. Climbing out, and firing up the computer just to watch the miners fly away!

I was told to wait for ten minutes, just wait, they will be back. Well, it took them 15 minutes, and it was worth it. Both the retriever pilot and the venture returned, but to different locations.

We tackled the retriever together, missed the pod. I was worried the venture would evade us with the +2 warp. Neither of us had a faction point, and I wasn't willing to fall for good looking bait ships. The venture had ended up in another ore anom, so not-Ze warped in at zero and the venture was 70k out.

Since not-Ze was uncloaked we figured the game was up, he bookmarked the ventures roid and warped to the static. I warped to the fresh bookmark and nabbed the Venture and the Pod! Good times were had by all. Don't mine in a wormhole without support... seriously I should have never killed the Venture and his Pod.

The infiltration alt has not been burned, and I am on the way to the next target. Life is good.

Success by default.

Inflitration alt has successfully grabbed 545mil in ships, the arrays were locked so I skipped that. Nothing special in the fits, and zero station trades to record my activity. Fly to k-space, eject, grab waiting shuttle, return for more. I don't expect to get 'burned' from this, but time will tell.

The home hole was like a highway last night, this morning's report was just as bad. Two K162s to NS, one to LS, one to a C2, plus our static. The call was to ignore all activity until tonight, then roll everything closed.

Ge announced his master plan over dinner. Suffice to say, we have a six month window to make enough isk and gather enough resources to make it work. Putting up additional PoSs in the hole for production has been on the table for a long time, the extent of the plan is pretty grand.

Ze is out for a month, maybe two, he is travelling to the east and probably won't have a connection. Guess I can cut him some slack and not turn him into a full pirate. Maybe.

Last night we tackled a Domi in LS, and it 'Micro Jumped' away, just saying that is one slick potatoe. We congradulated him on his escape, and went about our business. Picking up my LS drug stash was rather nice, it has been nearly six months since I left Dudreda. Pretty sure the wrapper is still good.

Spy is on fire.

My inflitration alt has picked up some great intel, I just don't know who to sell it to yet. The potential for damage and mayhem is greater than the theft I could execute. Oh, time will tell. Setting up a theft, and leaving the alt in place is the current goal. Sow distrust and disgust! If and when she gets burned, I am sure there will be more than a few acceptable targets.

The recent Dev Blogs about industrials is interesting, but until CCP drops it on SiSi I don't care. Driving a freighter was pure suicide, using T2 active transports was much better. Yes, I do like the Mammoth...

Ge's secret project must be a whopper. He has drained off 3bil in material and isk, with no end in sight. He has even sold off a character to fund his madness! Sa has been very quiet about this, pretty sure he is in on the project.

Ze has taken another hiatus and left the keys with me, again. He might just come back to a -10!

Scooter Trash

Our collective weekend in EvE was pretty slow. Ge is crowing about his reverse engineering and production of sub-systems. Followed by, he needs two months to actually produce anything! Sleeper killing was at an all time low, as most of us were at the Harvest Run enjoying the rare sunny day in Washington.

Sa served his homemade chili for most of the afternoon, while I did the silent auction. Sa's bike is still in the shop, so he is a bit grumpy. The rest of the crew was out enjoying the ride and weather, a few came back with burnt noses. Maybe we should have called it the Rudolph run? Either way, money was raised for Holly Ridge and people enjoyed themselves.

Sa swears next year he will brew a double batch of sweet chili, since that was the most popular of the three chilies availble. Sunday was a complete crash day, as all of us were stuck indoors due to weather. I am sure most of us were just grateful for the rest.

While Ge was about the only person online, he managed to get a lol-kill of a newbie gasser. Appearantly Ge decided to send the victim a message, the victim's tears were shared to the entire Alliance. Yes, I still hate them, and I will kill more than a few of their active characters.

The alliance killboards look like crap, with half the kills coming from our little group. The losses are dumb... just plain dumb. The loot pinatas these people are flying make me want to activate my infiltration alt and reapply for the lolz.

Being Watched

Mornings call was to roll and gas, which did not happen. Instead, we had a visiting Rapier as we began our morning roll. The Rapier pilot talking in local for thirty minutes as we carefully moved scouts and rollers into place. Rapier pilot was joined by a highsec visitor, which collapsed the highsec hole and trapped him with us.

We aborted our roll of the K162s to focus on the new static forming, we gave up on gassing. Once the hictor came out to play, the Rapier shut-up and jumped back into his home hole. Our rolling actually trapped the Helios that had wandered in, back into highsec along with Ze. Fair trade I would say.

Ge appearant didn't need to be at work like the rest of us and closed up his production arrays for the weekend. He let the rest of us know long after we had logged out, that he had also increased our PoS's defenses after freeing up the power grid and CPU.

Ze set an auto-pilot for somewhere, and we will pick her up tonight or tomorrow. Sa was a little ticked about getting Ze locked out, and very happy the Helios was out of the home hole. Pretty sure it was a win-win in my book, Ze rarely leaves the hole for anything.

Lost cause?

Our uninvited neighbors moved out suddenly and in the middle of the night, much like they moved in. The excuse, and yes it was an excuse, "We thought your didn't want us there." Well no shit scherlock.

With the hole back under our exclusive control, Sa is back to hole rolling like a man possessed. We had univited daytrippers when we locgged in, and watched as they were decimated by another group just as we were preparing to do the same.

A close call, we then rolled the invading k162 to nearly max... and let the invaders finish it. Much cat calling and baiting occured after they realized we had critted their static. Followed by three hours of us being at a restraunt discussing the Harvest Run on saturday, Sa is cooking 10 gallons of chili.

We finished up harvesting sleeper organs this morning, considering we didn't have an accurate accounting of all the invading ships last night. Ge is happily planning his next big money maker, while the rest of us are sighing with relief over the loss of our neighbors.

With the fishes.

Update! Infiltration alt has successfully intergrated into the targets home hole. Ships are prepped and ready to raid the shit out of them this coming weekend. Assets mark up to less than 300mil, personally I think we could do better.

In other news, EvE had an emergency reboot. So we missed our window for sleeper harvesting before everyone headed to work. Ge managed to smuggle out some material to highsec, since last night we were camped in our home hole.

Got to respect the irony of camping people, and being camped in return. In other news, Fountain is exploding... who knew? Our normal buyer for sleeper material just bailed on the project, something about losing his PoS out in NS. Back to station trading I guess, I will let GK handle that.

There is rumor of an invasion coming to our home hole... I think it is -tinfoil-.

Father's Day

This weekend was a mixed one of emotion. I went to a funeral, and witnessed the majesty of a Catholic Mass. The costums and posturing, the chanting and droning of the priest. Kinda wondered if the Amarr would do things the same way.

Father's day was stressful, only as a mixed family of adopted and steps can be. Everyone knows the other's story, and no one really feels like being there, but we go through the motions. Much like that Catholic Mass.

------------

Wormhole news!!! Another successful character moved out of the home hole! We even provided escort service and overwatch. No, we didn't blow him up.

Ge is getting wierder, he is now openning up shop for reverse engineering of sleeper stuffs. As long as he keeps me in ISK, I don't care if he dresses in drag and dances down the street in a speedo.

GK is providing an advanced lab, and all the stuff that has not sold yet to kick start the project. Personally, I skeptical.

Stuttering EvE

First off, having enough lag to drop our op was stressful. Second, hunting a bomber while EvE kicks everyone off is worse. Whom ever is attacking EvE is either in it for the LoLz or has an agenda...

No lost ships yet, but the time is coming. Bigger risks and more hostility sprewing forth. Lets not forget summer vaccation with the kiddies, they will be invading in-mass like spawning fish. Rolling the holes and controlling the static becomes even more pressing.

The allies continue to lose ships, there was a wreck in the home hole this morning with no corrisponding kill mail. Who killed it? Where is he/she? What were they flying? No one knows, and the owner of the ship isn't on. General wierdness?

Ge continues to cackle and laugh, pretty sure he is going off the deep-end.

Watching them burn (2?)

Our esteemed allies have once again blundered, just checking the killboard makes me wince. Not once, not twice, but five times the same person loses ships to a hunter (yes, the same hunter). The hunter is sitting cloaked on their static, watching for the next target.

The J-sig shows the allies have lost ships nearly daily for a week, they finally balls up and get a fleet running. And promptly lose another t2 bomber... without bombs. Open slots make me cry. After an hour of tag, they invite a Merc along... and then they start insulting each other on coms.

Drunk merc does what a merc should and dec's us! HUZZAH! SALUTE! BACON! Eh, what ever, we live in a wormhole. There are no friends in anoikis, barely allies. Alliance diplo gets things smoothed over. The funniest thing is the merc in question, has alts in the alliance he dec'd. And the allies know who they are!!!

LR;DR Allies derp, lose ships and face.

Weekend blue-balls

This weekend was rather disappointing, a K162 openned up and out came Tengus. We like Tengus... we dont like bait. These players popped into the hole and raided the combat sites, all well and good. They then proceeded to bait at their entry for an hour.

So, in general concensus, we logged out and took a ride out to Mosimos for Lunch. The weather was good, not to warm not to cold. Ge was able to regale us with his exploits in the old c2, and the fail that the 'new' owners tried to pull.

Ge also revealed his master plan of building an x-large array in the hole and setting up production of some 2-3 Phoenix. I'm not a fan.

We ended up back on later, and found the offending K162 gone. We headed out the LS exit and ran some new data sites, I'm getting the hang of it. Then we headed out a K162 to HS and ran Guristas for a few hours, yay for sec increase. The bounties didn't make up for the loss of the sleepers, but it was better than ship spinning.

Friday, June 7, 2013

Quick update

We got home late, it was our 'off' night so we had no intention of logging on. Ge called and we quickly logged in, and warped to 100k from him. He was watching a retriever in our home system, we gang warped in ( Ge didn't get on the kill, to close for the gang warp ) and pointed, webbed and killed it. I went after the pod, and barely missed.

Dotlan history showed this guy had lost a Hulk and another guy had lost another mining ship, both pods tagged by an interceptor. This morning, we found the same guy warping into the hole while we killed sleepers in a Verk. He got away, Sa said he sent the guy a polite message. Who knows?

Either way, Odyssey has changed Grav sites in wormhole space into death traps...

Wednesday, June 5, 2013

Cold Shivers

We had an unauthorized user in our intel channel, Sa immediately identified and kicked. Then let us know and set up the controls for the channel to the corp. The person was from a well known highsec greifer corp, and funny that how that information got out there.

The alliance is full of 'highsec merc griefer corp' alts... Geeeee, we should have been told before we joined. I had spoken to many such merc corps in the past, little did I know we would be living with them. I came close to hiring that particular Corp from my last foray.

----------------

Odyssey Changes. The warp gates are nice, the worm hole effects are interesting, the undock button is stupidly placed. The data sites in WH space were drastically changed, and not in a good way. The Grav sites are a f'cking death-trap now, Ge is looking for a way to make them safer... I don't think so.

Stupid mistakes

Got on last night to learn there were 'unknown' probes in the home wormhole. I didn't bother logging in, later I learned the neighbors lost an indy to a stealth bomber. Colour me surprised.

Newbie mistake, bookmark the sig and not the exit static (hole). I have watched them do that simple mistake two in person, being a teacher isn't in me. Destroying ships and burning towers, now that is me.

Ge has started a secret project, pretty sure he is about to derp hard. Last time he went off the deep-end he cancelled his acocunt for three months.

Thursday, May 30, 2013

Newbies?

Ge talked to everyone this morning, he stayed up late last night and got a new group to move into the old c2. They seemed cool with the idea that the pocos were up for sale, the hole was free.

As a group, we have never paid for a wormhole. I have harassed people into leaving, we have moved into an alliance controlled hole, we have even helped kick people out then took the hole for ourselves. The fact is, we ( as a community ) need more people who actively use wormhole-space.

Getting a decent price on the PoCos would be nice, the corp made a bundle on the Nanite Paste and PoS fuel from the PI. Our new home is about the same for resources, we just get bigger sleepers and no extra static. Having 'allied' neighbors in the same hole makes it a bit more secure... I will be watching to see if they keep their PoS fueled.

To early for calls

Sa recieved a frantic call from Ge beore we were out of bed, he had eyes on a russian closing a connection and could we get online. Well, duh! We dutifully logged in and waited with baited breath, staying at the character screen until we were given the go.

Sa grabbed a Scorpion, I grabbed my Hictor. Ge was already scouted in the ajoining hole, Ze grabbed a Falcon, we immediately warped to the k162 with orders to jump immediately. Sa was a little slow, and the target spotted him jumping in. The target didn't hesitate to jump right back in and polarize himself.

Soon as my session timer dropped, I popped the warp feild generators and got warmed up. The target didn't disapoint, and lost his cloak before he should have. Scorpion and Falcon pointed and ECM, Loki point and web, me, bubble and double web. Everyone started firing, drones went out and the Raven was quickly scrap, followed by a fresh corpesikle.

We dutifully closed the exit, and Sa posted the kills in Alliance chat. Discussion surrounded the idea that the Raven wasn't safe, even with 5 Warp Core Stablizers. He didn't even discuss the woefully inadequate heavy missile launchers and lack of drones.

Everyone was up way to early, so we each logged off and got ready for the real world. Me, I got to luxuriate in the warmth of a good morning kill.

Watching the fire

This weekend my little group made leaps and bounds towards our neighbors. We ( I mean the CEO ) applied to the alliance they are part of... A short chat was handled, and the application went in. Protesting they are incompetent landed on deaf ears.

So, I went about my normal routine killed sleepers, mined ore and shot up a Scimitar in highsec. All in a good days work. The Scimitar had a 'kill right' available, took me two tries to kill them... with the help of two semi-hostile/helpful Scythes who kept repairing the shields on the Scimitar. Go go mighty drones!

After a few hours I came back to the same system, with blasters rather than rails (d'oh). No one was available to kill, so back to mining.

After nearly two boring days of rain, the sun finally came out of the clouds as six former Talocan pilots dropped on the neighbors and sacrificed them to Bob. The miner(s) were afk at a grav site, and yes, they were podded. The loss of the ships is nothing, the implants were nearly 120mil for each pod. Incompetent I say, as I watch the fires burn.

The alliance has another C3, the leader stated they were bulding Caps. Sa and Ge argued that the Caps would never leave the C3... EVER! I almost wanted to cry.

Infiltration alt has hooked up in a solid target Corp, time will bear me out. Now to find the Towers and Hangers.

Fiction:beginnings

Every day looks the same from the bottom of a coal mine. Every day starts in darkness and ends in darkness. Why do I think so? I am drifting in space, with no com, no radar, and no engine. I only have an old paper notebook and a piece of carbon. My name is Theo, this is my story.

-----

I started out young, fresh from college, reveling in life and new found glories. Being a cartographic technician I have a good understanding of placing extractor heads for mineral extraction. A much sought after skill, and I was proud!

My first contract was rather poor, in comparison to later contracts. A Pod pilot by the name of JJ Jones wanted assistance in placing a new extractor head on a plasma planet, in a nearby system. The ISK was enough to pay for my brother’s college and my parents a nice new home. It also paid for more than a few nights on the town.

Each contract brought in more than the last, and I partied and spent money like it was water. All good things must end. My third year of contracts took me two jumps from Jita, the trade capital of the known universe. It was heaven.

What I didn’t know, was my contracted pilot was WarDec’ed. We were shot out of the sky before anyone recovered from the jump. The pilot was so drunk, his Pod was also shot and his clone was activated. The rest of us mortals had to make due in a rapidly decompressing cargo container.

The two dancers were rescued almost immediately, never to be saw again. Being a scientist, and a mortal, I didn’t expect to survive. Praying to Gods that I had ignored for years, eventually I passed out from oxygen deprivation.

Waking up was difficult, the person doing it was yelling, screaming and slapping. I was alive, and then I was shackled. Shadows passed me by, and found myself again in a small poorly lit cargo pod. Apparently I was cargo, loaded with a stinking herd of cattle and bales of browning leaves.

....

Watching the bait.

Double Retriever kill, and a Pod. Yup, neighbors got nailed while mining. The story is “they were waiting for me.” The Pod was a loss of 120mil, +4 implants in a wormhole. While chatting them up, I watch a NOHO shuttle drop into the hole and leave… yup, bait. While they are busy re-buying the lost ships and implants, someone is waiting for them at the entrance.

Fiction Friday, a few of my favourite blog authors write fiction on Fridays. I am going to work on it, perhaps publish it after some review.

Stuck with the Tards.

Well, things are not going as smoothly as expected. I was priced a Large PoS take-down crew at 5Bil! Talocan United is being disolved for reasons I do not know. And I finally got a good hard look at my undesired neighbors.

Their PoS has one each hardener... which is active. Mixed Lasars and ACs, with no ECM, but does mount Damps at the poles. I did not have time to look for Webs and Scram, that will be for tonight.

Destroying another PoCo last night, while the neighbors busily munched ore. They don't get they should hold onto the ore until after the June 4th patch, for maximum results. They have an Intensive and Medium grinder anchored and active... stupid is as stupid does.

Neighbors have brought in a lowsec pirate alliance to fight for them, against the evil highsec greifer/merc corp. I am almost blinded by the stupidity of it all. So, PlanB is scrapped, time to evaluate PlanC.

Tuesday, May 21, 2013

igni ferroque

Also known as Scorched Earth tactics. We are removing all profitable sites from the wormhole, preventing the neighbors from profitting from thier PoS.

Combined with the Mercenaries in Highsec, I am hoping they will lose interest in a non-profitable PoS and leave. The rest of the crew is happy with clearing anoms, and making a profit. Ge is content reacting gasses, and making compoenents. GK is more than happy to handle the markets and moving material to meet our needs, his cut isn't to hefty.

The Merc's contract is up in a few days, and I am considering giving the neighbors a short respite... only to start up a new Merc contract before the long weekend. Should I also take a new contract with the old Mercs or bring in new ones? Perhaps I should be devious and find a smaller, more targettable Merc group?

Sa still hasn't asked where the funds are going, and I am not about to let him in on the secret.

Breaking the will to fight (back)

I read the Mitanni, and I follow his advice on destroying opponents. Yes, My name is Soo, and I am an addict.

The number one way to destroy your enemy is to destroy his will to log in. Not killing his ships, oh no, not that. Removing targets or blue-balling an opponent, to let them move on due to boredom, not that either. Slowly driving the average pilot to stop logging in, in effect have them do 'something-anything' else than log in (today).

Sun Tzu is a man out of time, his guide on waging war is true now, as it was true then. Win the war, then go fight. Plan before, not during a war.

"Supreme excellence consists of breaking the enemy's resistance without fighting.”
― Sun Tzu, The Art of War

The Mercenaries are slowly breaking my oppenents will to log in. This weekend alone, two thirds did not log onto their mains. No roaming fleet logged in to ferret out their opponents, few left their station. Those merry few were secretive, or died.

I do not expect my contracted killers to really get enough kills to cover my expenses, that is not the goal.

Friday, May 17, 2013

Morning downtime.

This morning, the servers were having a terriffic time loading... or starting... or something. Once I got on, I did a quick sweep of the C3 and saw we still had the static and K162 available. Two quick warps, and the static is 'has not yet begun...' wtf?

Yup, the morning downtime reset the static's timer. A check of the K162 shows it is fresh as well... a 16hour timer, and it isnt eol. The K162 still leads to the same system, the static's K-space location has moved 20j away.... yet, it is still in the same location of the home system. Wierdness abounds!

-----------------------------

Last night, the neighbors lost two space-potatoes to a well formed gang. They were tackled with a Proteus, and then DPS and long tackle arrived. Followed by falcon. And to add insult to injury, an Onyx. Yep, they lost two potatoes and two pods. The net destruction 556m isk in potatoes and implants.

I sent the Proteus pilot a gift of 10mil, and a thank you note. Who says Wormholers are not polite?

Since I didn't see any sleeper salvage on the KM, I can only conclude they had a third pilot cleaning up the sites. I have not seen a Noctis or destroyer flying thier colours. Which also means they have a scout still parked in the hole.

Speaking to three small-time merc corps has not had the desired results. Next step, resource denial in highsec through griefers. I still have contact with a few groups of highsec gankers, never expected it to come in handy. Wardec in Highsec will keep them occupied, loading up a 'retired' account to start harrassing them is next.

Thursday, May 16, 2013

Hiring Mercs, and History.

I have decided to look for Mercenaries to clear out the C3. Simple enough, we do not have the time or firepower to remove the neighbors. Recent discussions around sharing resources is not an issue, operation security is.

Keeping the barn door closed and rolling incoming K162s has always been a priority... the last few 'shared' holes, keeping the static closed was nearly impossible. We have watched a German Corp build and lose a Rorqual is less than two weeks. I have seen a seeming nice Italian Corp suddenly become dangerous, after being ganked from an incoming k162 (they blamed us on that one).

When we started out, we joined a nice little German Industrial Corp. Things went well, we made isk and learned the ropes. When thier alliance moved in a new German Corp, things went south quickly. Using bubbles around the static, keeping scouts posted while mining or sleeper harvesting. Miscommunications abound!

Our first solo wormhole, we set up in a C2 with a lowsec static. It was a pirates haven, and we frequently had to abandond the field when pirates came through. I began my descent into Pirate-dom, and drove my sec status below -8.

We joined an alliance, and set up business with the Italians. As soon as we firgured out they were an Alt-corp from NS, we bailed from that hole and set up in another. We left the alliance after nearly a year, it was good and lots of learning happened.

We left that hole and began a summer of war decs, which was fun but not really profitable. Sa saw a group of our old allaince hanging out in highsec, and followed them into a recently assaulted C2. Which we dropped scouts, and began a month long harrasment of the local population. We set up a PoS as soon as they left, killed PoCos and began to rebuilt our wallets.

This new C3 is fantastic, minus the corp that moved in over Mother's Day weekend. Out history with shared holes, and dangerous neighbors, I do not believe we will have long. Taking a pre-emptive strike against the neighbors I feel is our only choice.

Now to hire some Mercs.

Wednesday, May 15, 2013

Grinding Isk

Our happy family is in the C3, refits have happened, isk is being ground? Ground; the act of grinding? Either way, we have set up our PvE/P ships for the C3 and have begun our reign of terror upon the local sleeper populace. Yup, PvE/P ships! Having a mixed fleet of nearly identical ships to confound our attackers, and just in case, we have points and webs to really pound them into the dirt.

The alts are closing the shop in the C2, minus the fact they cannot unanchor some of the modules. Curse you Anchoring III, and your 10 hours to train! Tomorrow, more of those silly modules will be down and shipped out. Half the remaining ships are shipped, the rest will be used for hole control and tear-down.

Already the C3 has outstripped the C2! Three sites in the C3 have netted us 90m isk in bloot, and plenty of sleeper salvage to reinvigorate production. The C2 wouuld net around 40m isk in bloot and about two thirds the slavage.

The light blue neighbors filtered out and one or two of them are mining. I am fairly confident they will lose interest in the hole in a few months, or will fail to do somthing simple... like fuel thier tower, get stuck out in highsec, get totally ganked while mining.

The awox alt is nearing his skill completion, and will begin his reign of terror... which will be short lived.

Tuesday, May 14, 2013

Happy Mothers Day.

We had a ride to the eastern side of Washington, over 20 and through the beautiful northern forest-scape. Visited with family, and had an early dinner with Mom. Sunday we rode back through the mountains... raining all the way through, past the snow and down into the lowlands. Barely caught the ass-end of the ferry. We made it, the return trip sucked.

When we got home, we found the intruding PoS semi-fit and active pilots flying around. After a brief discussion we asked thier intentions and got a 'light' blue standing between us. Serious, a neutral standing would have gotten them dead. We have a full PoS killing crew on standby, and mercs for hire are always liking a good pos bash. ( as long as you have the cash )

The alts are back in the home hole, and the mains are set up in the new hole. Refitting all the ships from travel, and starting the process of tearing down the old PoS. Skill queues are running down for the summer expansion, and two new scout alts are being readied for long-term placement.

LT;DR We rode motorcycles, we now ride our ships into space.

Being Baited

I lost my Proteus not so long ago, the technique that was used was bait. Not your obvious bait, but ship changing bait.

The trick is, someone drops into your hole and scans it down. Then they come back with another toon and scan it... or what appears to be a person scanning. The reality is, they have it scanned and are making an appearance.

Next, someone brings in a ship, someone leaves in a ship. They try and time it, so the hole-fire is near instantaneous. This toon flies to a known hole ( k162, etc ), loiters and jumps in and out, polarizing themselves. They then fly back out the original hole. Do this a few times gives the appearance of someone scouting, or moving ships... looking like a target.

I foolishly took the bait last time, this time my corp-mate saw the same thing happening. Also, the same alliance, a.k.a. Sleeper Social Club. Surely Your Joking has done the same thing in the past... it looks like a decent target and appears to be alone!

Appearances are decieving, the bait is dual propped or over tanked with long and short points. As soon as you take the bait, the rest of the gang piles through a hole and warps directly to you. Often lead by a dictor or hictor, to make sure they get the pod.

I would love to give them a good fight, since this is Akonois ( Wormhole space ) there are no fair fights. If you are both on grid, someone is about to die.

The end of the story is, Bob was not sacrified to and Ze logged out for the night.

Balancing the load

Closing/Rolling holes is vital to our continued success in Ankois space ( a.k.a. Wormhole Space ). During our stay in the C2, we mastered the roll with un-plated Scorpions. The newest build with plated Scorpion has had two incidents in two weeks of stranding our Hictor on the wrong side.

We stranded Ze out in a NS-C3, thirty minutes later the only exit was deep in the ass end of null. Lucky the static is EOL, so we will get a second chance after work. If that fails we will wait for the weekend and hope for a K162 into an adjoining hole.

The C3's static is HUGE! 5Bil in mass to close it, which compared to the C2's statics of 3Bil doesn't seem like much... until you count that we do not have our fully fuctioning team in the C3. The C3 team is slightly smaller than our C2's original team, so that means more blind jumps into and out of the static.

The ISK in the C3 is twice as good as the C2. However, we give up our hunting static. We can just hope for foolish people openning up K162's into our new blind. BPO's are being turned into copies in HS again, to reseed Ge's production facilies and fuel production.

I feel that bringing in just the copies is a bit paranoid, Sa doesn't agree and he holds the wallet, I hold the bed! For now, the BPOs stay safe in highsec. For now...

Anchor down!

We managed to secure the neighbor's hole and make it our own. One long weekend we have managed to get the full PoS set up, fueled, stronted and ammunition loaded. Yup, we are hunting from our new blind!

Bringing over alts and mains, we have begun the scout seeding program again. There should be two to four more scout/newbie accounts logged into the hole by the end of the week. Only to be activated it they are needed! Ya, good going CCP, you have provided another wonderful service to your player-base.

Finally Sunday night, we started clearing Anoms and making isk. Total investment around 2bil in PoS and Ships, making a return on our investment is already at 150mil. At this rate, we should have it paided off in two weeks.

The C2 PoS managed to get a kill on a scout, who then left his pod at a safe... we probed it down and everyone available got on the kill. Smart scout, no implants. Was he our spai? No idea.

The 10th anniversary of Eve was awesome! IT WAS AWESOME! No really, I like the Gnosis. Not enough to buy the 150EU box for the 5BPC of the Gnosis. I was rather tired and travelling through Amarr, and saw a great contract for 100mil and a Gneiss... ya, scammers almost got me. Greed isn't good.

Sa and I fit up the Gnossis months ago, so we have moved that little tid-bit somewhere safe. Maybe sell them for a juicy profit much later. I would LOVE if I could buy a BPC/BPO, on a regular basis. It would become my ship-de'jure for everything WH related!

Eris who?

WE got a great exit out of the C2, and started dropping material out. Ships removed, arrays stripped and isk secured in HS. Took an hour to get better than 50% out, we attracted some attention from the locals. Pretty sure our 'spai' drummed up some business in local too.

We immediately put it on hold, and put up more defenses in the Neighbor's hole. Then logged for the night!!!

Next morning, Sa and I drove out more ships and material. And then we spotted an Eris flickering on our hole. Immediately we put our overwatch on an orbit far from the exit and bounced our incoming indys to the PoS.

Good thing we did, as we watched a 'indiction probe' appeared on DScan... talk about a close call. We never got eyes on the spai or the Eris. But, we know he is out there... watching us.

Squatters

Taking over someone's home in RL is vastly different from taking over a wormhole.

My neighbor was 'selling' his house to a 'friend', who bailed on the project... leaving unpaid utilities, and a woman with three kids in the house. As I have learned, she then put a restraining order against this 'friend', and began running up even more utilites, cable bills, dish tv, etc... My neighbor had to go to court to get her out. It was ugly, it wasn't an eviction, not sure what it was.

So the neighbors house is being repaired by a nice old guy from his church, and he has found a new tenant from the same church. I really hope this person and thier family is nice (and without drama). I have met the repair guy, and played with his dogs. Seems a very nice guy, I am pretty sure he is doing a good deed. The woman and kids... the mess they left, the furniture, the large screen TV, the rotting food and broken water pipes, I hope she gets help.

------------

So the neighbor hole that I was camping, has become our new home. Lucky for Sa I managed to get back in before the exit despawned, it was EOL and I was 20j out from being podded.

We have brought in an entire PoS, ECM, Guns, Ammo, Hanger and Storage. Next is tearing down our former home and shipping it into the neighbor's old hole. Pretty sure we can do it piece-meal, now that we have a secure PoS in place. Ge is frantically processing minerals and reacting gasses to reduce our shipping.

Once the home hole is empty, we will put it on the forums. The PI is decent, all the PoS PI fuel, etc. The spawn rates are slow, dont ask me why. And the statics are HS, C3 and weekly LS. Now, back to work!

Lost my Proteus

It started out as a good day... ended up pretty bad. I drop into the C3 I was camping and found the old neighbor sitting near his guns, and no force field on the PoS. Warping to a pounce, I drop back in and pop his indy. We exchange pleasantries, and I go and kill his Ibis and two cans of Stront. Loot, and pop the wrecks, the neighbor logs out.

I should have log out too... instead Sa convinces me to hang around while he hauls a PoS and drops in the hole. Soon as he does, I hear hole fire and watch a t2 scout jump in and out. Wierd behaviour aside, we have this guy tagged as red. Corp is red. Sa cloaks up and slow boats away from the anchoring PoS.

Three more jump and jump back, a Moa finally jumps in and warps to a planet. I warp right behind him at 100km... and right on top of him decloaking. I go for the tackle, and see a dictor on dscan a momment later. Followed by a Cane, and a couple more BCs.

Yup, I fell for the bait and paid for it with my T3. I built this T3 with love, specifically to kill miners and indys in the Old Hole. They had a habit of getting away, until I rebuilt the Proteus with a faction 3-point.

Sa's alt is trapped in the neighbor's hole, with a tower and only a days fuel. Sa is putting it on the grape-vine to find the hole and rescue his lost alt and tower. I'll let you know when we find him again, might be a while.

Ice Changes

ZOMGWTFBBQ? Ice belts being removed? Grav sites going away, and being replaced with no-probes required anoms? Ice becoming a four hour wait for the next site? Choas? Dogs and Cats sleeping with each other? MADNESS?!?!!

So... the second hole is on hold ( same number of letter, just change the 'e' for a 'd' ). The alts are going back to farming ice... lots of ice. While we were in boringville, carving ice, we had an ibis show up right next to us. Sa warps all of us to the station! WTF? Suddenly three red-flashy ships drop right where we were. Good job!!!

One gets nailed by Concord, the other two warp out and back to the second set of targets. By this time Sa's alt is back in a BC and 'tags' the two flashies for a nice Concord assisted KM. He was laughing so hard he blew coffee out his nose!

So we log for an hour or so, end up checking the home hole and dicking with the neighbors. We cleared out all of thier LADAR sites, for about four hours. The reactors are offline while Ge micro-manages some BPOs and component production.

Sunday morning, we log in and check the neighbor again. He has visitors!!! I have all the sites book-marked, and I start making perches. Three tengus should be a good match-up for our little five-person fleet. We load up a Loki, Proteus, Falcon and two HAM Drakes, and an alt sits in a Hictor... just in case.

My first attempt at a close tackle go poor, I set up a perch in the fifth site and go for the gold. Warping in the Falcon and Loki we decloak only to see them warp off... somehow warned we were coming.

We all load up scouts, and put out probes to find thier entrance. A minute later, I have the K162... we put up pickets and wait. Five minutes later a Condor and Kestral jump through the K162 and warp to seperate sites. Ge goes for a tackle and misses the Kestral, Sa reports the Condor cloaks on site.

After a few cloak and bounce sessions, as well as watching them create pounces. I tell Ge to try again, he misses and in frustration loots some sleeper loot and shoots the wrecks. They get the hint and warp to the K162, I follow them inside and quickly find thier home PoS(s). Ze takes up picket at the K162, and watches a Pilgrim enter the K162 behind me. I take up position over thier PoS and watch ship changes.

Two of thier number log out, Sa calls for the Falcon and overwatch as he grabs the stabbed Noctis and collects all of the loot remaining. Shortly after finishing, Ge reports a cloaky t2 leaving. We load up the Bloots, escort it home and crit the connection. I stay in the neighbors hole, and we all log out for Ice mining.

Did I mention Ice Mining is boooorrrinngs? We did it anyway. We haven't been on our alts for more than ten minutes when a yellow flashy drops into the belt. We dutifully warp off, Sa grabs the BC and heads back. I go make lunch while he tackles and kills a Minmatar FW pilot who had a suspect flag. Since our home hole and alts are 'hot', we take the rest of day to play WoT.

Three CHEERS for PoS changes!

The upcoming changes to PoSs will have a major impact on our little corp. Roles will be revised, divisions will be re-purposed, and security will be increased! I can't wait!!!

Being able to section off people's loot and specialty Mods will allow us to expand our recruitment drive. Now about those hangers?

Sa has said he will allow us three hangers in the PoS; one for Corp Ships, one for senior members and one for the newbies. Ge thinks we should forgo the Corp Ship hanger and divide the corp into three divisions ( or four )? I think the three/four with Corp ships in the senior hanger a more efficient plan. Ammo and common mods should still be shared too.

-----

In other news VC and his family haven't logged in for some time, I think he has left the game completely. My infiltration alt is in his second corp... also, very low activity levels. Another month he will be able to AWOX his target, got an antsy employer who wants results and a corpse. This alt won't be a burnable asset once he is done, going to move him to statis for a month or so, then find another personal contract.

Back from the Concert

Well, the group is back from a Concert in Spokane, Don Williams fine voice crooning old country. Just like I remember.

Hit the local Gold Wing group, picked up some snazzy wall hangings and the booby-prize to boot. Good food, and nice people, we will be headed back next year to give the giant underwear back. We signed it of course, the history goes back five years.

The WH sleepers are really slowing down, and discussions have turned to farming a second hole. Our current home, we made very uncomfortable for the previous residents, until they got the hint and moved back to NS. Finding an unoccupied hole on the lower end is unlikely.

Moving up to a C3 is totally workable as far as skill. We are discussing a possible C3-NS hole, logistics would be an absolutely nightmare. Some of us have lived in a C2-LS hole, which was profitable and exciting. The biggest turn-off is we lost a couple of people due to the 'hostile' environment in low sec.

I am pretty sure we could handle a C3-NS. We would need to prep two orcas, full pos and modules with mostly compressed ( un-manufactured ) fuel. Then anchor large secure safes for emergencies, and bring in our security fleet. It would take a full commitment to get it set up, once in place it would only need four pilots to generate a good income.

On other notes, the corporation is stabilizing. Alts are moving into place, and we should have the most recent pilots trained to handle the C2. Production is slowing down due to a lack of sleeper salvage, and ladar sites. Ge is considering moving his production side back into K-space and leave the reactions in the hole.

Laying low

Five dead in our home system. It appears one gorup was harvesting sleepers in the hole, only to be jumped by an equal sized group. The losses show a Tengu loss vs 2 Drakes, 1 Hurricane and 1 Corax loss. The Corax was PvP fit!

Three K162s keep everyone laying low for the rest of the day. Morning form up, we find the statics are EoL. One Ladar site later, we start logging out. Ge spams a text to everyone, a Harby is in the hole killing out sleepers.

While we were gassing, a combat site popped up and the Harby slipped through the EoL static to take a crack at it. We miss three times to tackle him as he warps celestials.

After we are sure he is gone, we roll the statics and head to work. Makes me wish we had more people to watch our collective backs.

Fixing whats broken

Repairing the corp, restoring alts, bringing in new fuel and trying to find replacement pilots. Exhasting...

Over the weekend, I managed to pop t1 frig and pod. I heard back from Ze that the piloted had 'just learned about wormholes.' The lie couldn't get much deeper from a 1 year old pilot, with nascent skills. Either way, new corpse in my collection and some loose trash for the market.

Clearing the hole and prepping a second PoS has taken it's toll. I have all the mods on hand for a second PoS, and most likely will be finding another hole to park our up and coming combat pilots in. A solid C2 with a LS static would be great, maybe with some pink fluffy clouds. I would even entertain a C1 with a LS static for teaching new pilots.

I don't think I can shake Ge out of the current hole, he is an industrialist at heart. His PI is getting more efficient too.

Breaking up

I log in last night to find half the corp leaving! Without warning, VC and his Son-in-law are leaving for greener pasture. He logs off just as we log in.

He logs onto an alt, and leaves the shared channel. I PM him, finally get him to speak. He took all his toys and left us with control over the corp and alt corp. Not very forthcoming... I know him at work, he hasn't acted this erratic before.

So, here we are split into multipul corps. Sa is discussing with Ge about re-merging the old corp and moving yet again... I can't blame Ge for not wanting to move again. We are deeply invested in our WH. Moving the towers again, is just a pain.

Personally, I don't think I have the time or energy to move all of our crap again.

---------

On other notes, we could go back to war-deccing bears in hs. The tears are beautiful out in k-space.

On the hunt

Having a night off, I decided to really look around our neighbors house. I found two small PoS and a medium PoS in the C3. Figuring they would make great kills... zero defense, one hanger and two maintenance arrays available for plundering.

A full scan later, I find two k162s. One leads to NS and the other to LS, the static is also a LS! I text and assemble the troops for a hole rolling party at the neighbors. Adding in every character in the three target corps for good justice.

Soon as we being the roll, Sa spots a familiar named Anathema. He drops a probe and finds we have a new sig in the neighbors house, a quick scan finds a new K162.

I drop my alt into the hole and find it is previously scouted. The book marks show massive warnings... it is occupied by [HAHA], also known as 'Surely youre Joking'.

Some days you are the boot, some days you are the spider. We roll our hole, and leave the scout alone. We kill sleepers, set up manufacturing and reactions. Everyone logs out for a round or three or WoT.

Weekend kill

After waking up late, I start scanning down the home hole. Nothing special, we will have this cleaned out in less than an hour... or so I think. Breakfast at Chapter B interrupted, and three hours later we are back online and ready to roll.

Two quick passes and presto, mags and anoms down, cleaned up and manufactuing set. Things are smuggled out through lowsec and isk is made. People log out for WoT.

I stick around and keep exploring. Our neighboring c3 has holes to NS and LS, I am deeply saddened that NS was actually occupied this weekend. I hop out to LS and start scanning, three addition k162s appear. One is EOL, two others look like c2 and a c3. I drop into the c2 and find nothing.

The c3 has lots of ships, dscan shows where the PoSs are located. One PoS is full of ships, and no pilots. I hunt down the second PoS and find two pilots, and incapped guns. One is in an frigate, the other in a t1 logi cruiser.

Something odd about the logi, it wasn't parked near the PoS... it was parked outside of the shields! I look closer, it isnt repairing the guns nor the shields. I set my sights on the cruiser, and start my slow maneuvering to it's position.

It is 1k outside of the shields, I decloak and MWD bump him to 6k. Scram and web, and start shooting. He melts... his pod pops out and starts moving towards the shield. Scram-web that, and pop it. Scoop the corpse, and try and loot the cruiser. Not enough room, and the modules are cheap. Pop the wreck and warp to a pounce.

The frigate shows up and huddles near the PoS.

I go make lunch.

Thursday, April 4, 2013

Waiting on the pounce.

This mornings statics and k162s are all great! I have two semi-active holes and a hole full of germans! Just love that luck, and I am working today. My friend Ge is hiding out, sick he says, allergies says I.

So Ge is setting up standard pounces in the home hole, that is about 250k to 400k from the center of each site. Also means everything in the hole is active, and we have two to four days to harvest before it is all gone. Ge text me, to say that the germans moved an Azaru near the k162, and cloaked up. Got to love a trap.

In other news, my Granddaughter spent the night and shared breakfast before we left for work. I really enjoy the time with her.

PI and loot

My endevours of PI has netted me about 600mil in three weeks, which is enough to refit my tired Proteus. Paying the monthly bill with PLEX was also nice. Production has been slow again, we might be buying more gas from k-space. Loot was sub-par, barely bringing in 50mil.

On another note, someone died in the home-hole. And like usual, the killboards are silent.

Tuesday, April 2, 2013

Saying good-bye

The local germans have finally struck back at the invading NS'ers. With the constant possing of my potential targets, I have called it a day. Moving my looted modules out was fairly easy, and I left a flight of combat probes out as I left.

Returning to the home hole, I finally picked up three weeks of PI. Contracted my loot to be sold, and finally took a night off of hunting.

Good-bye Old Hole! Next time I bring in friends!!!

Monday, April 1, 2013

Bounty and talking smack.

Back to the Old Hole, and presto, miners. Those pesky ventures are back, I have refit my proteus just for them! And it pays off in spades, I nab one and pop him.

The next two days I watch as two of the pilots pod themselves to where-ever, instead of scanning down the static to highsec. It appears they didn't have the skills to do just that. So I find thier pub and crash it.

After a few minutes of watching the PoS, I see PsychoBitch (yes, that is the characters name) slow-boat out of the shield in a spade-head proteus. Teasing them in thier own pub only solidifies the idea they are new to WH space, I am eventually kicked out of the pub.

Sitting afk, I come back to an open conversation box with one of my victims. So much for staying afk ;) The corp kills a few sleepers and harvests gas while I am out of game, and another possible suicide happens. Since there is no killmail, I am assuming it was another suicide. Making two ships and three pods imploding.

Easter starts out with three bounties of 100k each, and ends with a dead cruicifier in system. Still no killmail, waiting, waiting... nope, no killmail. Make that four suicides?

The local germans do nothing about the Gallente PoS in 'thier' system. Looks like it is time to move out and find some other targets. These seem to be onto my little game.

Famous Dave's and Killing Miners

So, my husband took me out to dinner last night. Nice to have a date night!!! And the restraunt changed menus... no so nice! I managed to get the naked ribs, which turned out wonderful and not drowned in BBQ sauce.

After getting home, I decided to check some pricing online and Sa buddied up to his infiltration alt. Turns out, the corp he is in just killed two players who were trying to extort the corporation miners. Pay me, or I awox!

They kicked them, then killed them with a proteus. Oh ya, a proteus, I want in on that action. He knows how fast they respond, and what they are flying. No to get in a position to kill that proteus!

While the boys were funning it up, I checked out the Old Hole. What a surprise, new Gallente tower wrecks and miners! LOTS and LOTS of miners!!!

I hunt them down, find out the corp is 600 strong and from NS. I warp out to my safe and see an imicus nearby. Not happy with that, I drop combat probes scan him down and kill the ship and pod. The imicus pilot wasn't associtated with the new interlopers, and I figure that out later. So off to the races, and find those miners!

Landing in the only mining site left in the system, there are ten-ish ventures with two procurers and a retriever. There is a drake sitting in the pos and a thrasher bouncing the celestials. Talking to Sa, he texts Ge and VC and they all agree the drake is providing boosts to the mining op. As I am watching, the thrasher lands in among the miners and cloaks.

I figure there has to be a couple of combat fit ventures in the group, so I drop in and scare them just to see the reaction. Warping to a safe immediately afterwards... the response time was horrible and it took nearly 30 seconds for all the miners to warp to the Pos. Shortly afterwards, half the miners log out from the Pos. With the recent experiment, I create a second safe on the opposite side of the site and get ready to tackle! The miners accommodate me by going back to business.

Driving in from the opposite side, I tackle a procurer and kill it. The pod and remaining miners warp off, I scoop and shoot and warp to my first pounce. The miners return almost immediately!

Since they want to play like I dont exist, I warp back in and shoot all of the cans left behind. And warp to a safe, one miner doesnt even leave the site!

Irritated, I warp in tackle and start shooting the venture, only to have it warp away. Returning to my pounce, all the miners go back to mining. Disgusted, I safe up, wait out my timer and log out.

Next time, no Mrs Nice Guy!

Local scanner

How I would love to have a one shot, total system scan once a day. With that said, I scanned both systems this morning. And it is a drag!

We rolled holes, and killed sleepers. And I got a text on the way into work. Probes in system, system hot.

Seriously? I just left home!

Tuesday, March 26, 2013

Missing the shot.

We had a good time last night, broke into a c3 and slaughtered sleepers for three hours. Grabbed all the bloot we could find, and rolled holes.

Logging into the Old Hole, I found the sites were gone! Two unidentifed ships were plundering, and the last site they were in I did not have book marked.

Dropping into a safe, I launched combat probes and tried valiantly to pin them down... they managed to salvage the last sleeper and warp out, just as I landed. The potential target swore in local, and jumped through a wh.

So, I scouted the rest of the Old Hole and found four k162s... I logged after that, and enjoyed a quick match of WoT.

Just a few pointers, I have that system scanned every day. I forgot to check the Dotlan before we started our combat in the static. Which means they went uninterupted for three hours before I checked in.

P.S. Anyone selling a c3 with decent PI and a static other than NS?

Close but no biscuit

Weekend started out slow, yardwork and movie-time at home. Eve was fun, no actual kills.

Sa had an alt scouting the static, and found a WH with four PoS and lots of active pilots. Normally we will ignore them, and maybe roll the holes with a scout on both sides. Sa had different plans.

Sa tells me this over breakfast, so all the fun was gone when I got up. He drops in the static, looks around and find the PoSs and piloted ships. Watching dscan, he discovers a mining operation in progress. Two orcas in a PoS, two Macs and a Retriever warping around the system.

He drops combat probes in the far reaches of the system, and hides them out of view. Then dscans the site down, narrowing with-in 5au. He aligns and combat probes, misses the first time. Second time bingo on the retriever, warps in and starts shooting.

This is where it gets intersting, the retriever was hard against an astroid. And the pilot drops his pod out and warps out with the other two toons. Dscanning like mad, he spots two BCs and a T2 headed his way. He warps back to the k162 and waits on our side cloaked. No response after 15 minutes, he logs out and makes breakfast.

-First off, Sa had the wrong ammo loaded, so no KM.
-Second, it was a trap. Retriever was hard against an astroid.
-Third, there were ten visible pilots in system. Parked at various PoSs.
-Fourth, a second ship would have scored a second kill (ammo).

All in all, an excellent example of a well prepared force. Response time was minimal, Sa thinks the response team was in warp as soon as the combat probes were spotted.

Gotcha!

My combat alt has been watching the Old Hole very carefully, even to the point I have it favourited at work. Watching for three hours while someone was chipping away at the sleepers... not able to do anything but watch.

Getting home, jumping on the alt and quickly determining all the anoms are gone! Since I cloaked as soon as I could, I avoided the single combat probe sitting in the system. Asleep at the wheel it seems.

A quick look around, shows the local static is EOL. There are three toons active on my list. And then, I see two Tengu and a Drake. And then, sleeper wrecks...

The only thing left is ladar and a mag site, dscan shows they are at the mag site. Got to love pre-scouting an entire system, top to bottom.

Once I am in the site, I start checking weapon types and speed. They are sitting still and plinking away with HMs, no transversal. I start a slow boat to make a perch, and watching as none of them approach the sleeper wrecks or cans.

Once the sleepers are all dead, the two tengus warp away leaving the drake. Having the single ship look tempting, the warp from the site back to the pos is over 32au. Not enough time to break the tank of the drake in my cloaked proteus. Instead I warp to the perch outside of the pos and see what they are doing.

Half way back to the pos, one tengu passes me. Probably refit with a code-breaker, or maybe with salvagers. The second tengu is swapped with a Noctis! Ooo, got me a soft target!!!

Warp back to the mag site to my perch, and watch, and watch, and watch. Finally the noctis pulls away from the drake, while the tengu was busy at the far can code-breaking. Four wrecks left is perfect, should be full of sleeper parts. The range of the noctii's tractor beams has me worried, they seem very short. Could it be the residents are smart enough to fit stabs on the noctis?

Warping directly to the noctis, uncloaking as I land. Bump the noctis, and overheat the point and guns. I do not web, just in case he is stabbed. And start shooting, neither drake or tengu change behavior. As soon as I pop the noctis, I go for the pod and miss. All three toons warp out together.

I loot the noctis, the two sleeper battleships left behind and destroy all the wrecks. Warping to my perch, I cloak up just as the two tengu and the drake land back in the mag site. I go get some coffee and a biscuit.

They have had over three hours of clearing to strip the system clean, and this is how it ends. Last site and I nab me a noctis for 150mil, loot 50mil in modules and sleeper salvage. Only the victim speaks in local, I say nothing and go back to reading facebook.

Disconnect!

Slow morning, training queues are full, hole is scouted, time to roll! Half way through our hole rolling party, I cant seem to dscan. Then, my 'socket' closes... wtf is a socket?

My internet dropped the connection for five minutes, while I am safety on our side of the static. My husband is not... and we are both disconnected. Which means I am madly texting our friends that we are not on. They text back, they aren't either!

Seems we have a network outage in the neighborhood, it sucks, we got back in and rescued ourselves before work. Instead of killing sleeper sites, we crashed two grav sites and cleaned up.

On the Old Hole;
- The residents have offlined the hanger and storage arrays, except the lab.
- Activated all the hardeners.
- Onlined all the gun... all the guns.

Sad to say though, I think they are expecting an invasion. To bad they are using lasars and cruise missile launchers.

Found you!

My friend GK, finally found us a possible entrance into our old C3. Appearantly he has been hitting people up who have recently died in that hole. Going to be quite the conversation on how he finally found someone willing to part with the information!

I dropped my combat alt out into HS and boogied over to the possible entrance system, and began scanning. After the tenth hit, I found a WH, THE WH! Quickly thanked GK and set up safes. Logged out and waited for the rest of the crew to get on.

After an uneventful night of killing sleepers and eatting stew, we logged out for the night. Ge forgot to set up his manufacturing last night, I see he got to it this morning. Slow isk, is still isk.

Waking up today, I jumped on the chance to scan down the entire WH and began triggering everything. Yes, I trigged everything in the hole. They now have 3-4 days before it all goes POOF!

The static moved, it was EOL last night. And a K162 from NS showed up, I didn't uncloak to check either. Just set up new safes, and made sure all the inhabitants were asleep. I expect the current residents are industrial Germans, they have crap for a KB. EvE-Who was kind enough to fill in all the blanks.

On a side-note, our old alliance had killed off an off-line pos in the system. Not sure why the field was down. I am setting up an informational matrix to track the inhanbitants.

Fly cloaked.

Sneak

So, we have a sneak in the home system. We rolled the holes after messing around in HS, and got out the PvE/P ships. Yes, PvE/P ships, our sleeper ships are set up to ambush and kill stupid ambushers. I like it that way.

Hitting the Radar site first, it seemed the despawn of the site went a little long. We grabbed some rougher PvP fit ships, just in case. Sa running the salvager, and the rest of us covering.

The combat site/anom went quick, and then lingered... and lingered... and lingered. We did a quick warp-in/out and the site despawned third time around. No one was decloaked.

One of the ruthless tricks I have used, is to wait on an anom until all of the combat is gone and then leave with good bookmarks for pounces. If you wait in an anom until it despawns, it will uncloak you. I have used this trick to catch unwary pilots, and find scouts who I suspected were in the site.

So, we have a sneak in the hole. Somewhere...

Weekend Biking

Weekend was spent on the beach, and talking about motorcycles. We took pictures for my granddaughters school project "Flat Stanley". The view was great, the rain kept us inside.

EVE related, the pi factory worlds are set up by Ge. Processing out the excess materials has started, reactions normal. AKA. BORING!

Maybe tomorrow night I will throw together a little LS roam.

Quiet again

Nothing to report, nothing killed, nothing left in the hole... Sleepers are stuck again, I hear the call of a day raid this weekend. Good luck to those who keep openning our statics.

Proteus Punch

Monday night was fantastic! I logged in and found a proteus sitting in our home system. After scouting the hole from safes, I launched combat probes. I was very certain he would cloak up or run away, which he didn't.

Sitting 30km off and oribting, I was sure this proteus was BAIT! So, we had dinner, talked about our day and came back an hour later. Proteus... still sitting there.

Quick text sent out, people log in and we set up an attack plan. Leaving two people cloaked, just in case it was a trap. I uncloak a flacon, lock and jam. He doesn't move.

I uncloak my alt, and web/scramble... he still doesn't respond.

Ge drops in with a Maelstrom, and we drop him quick. I lock up the pod and punch his lights out. And we all warp to safe spots, while the other two watch...

A rapier apears on scan, then vanishes. We keep waiting... nothing after ten minutes. We hop to our pounce to loot and salvage. Everything packed away, and we safe up again.

The guy must have been afk, and forgot to hit cloak. Either way, we killed a 2bil proteus and a 1bil pod. Looted 1bil in modules from the wreck. The next morning, we dropped the loot and accumlated wh stuff out the static. Rolled the holes and went back to hiding.

Sa has been on a kick to get everything not nailed down, out of the hole and into HS stations. So far, we have reduced our odds and ends down to half a bil of ammo and manufacturing BPCs. Maybe he is being paranoid, maybe he isn't?

Tengu-Tango

This weekend was fabulous! We woke up early saturday, before a motorcycle ride with some friends. Go online and found a tengu busily attacking our sleepers. (Our sleepers are ours, after all)

Two quick texts and we get one response. We logged on, far in the outter reaches of our home. Fleet up and get a scout in place. Once we were all in place, 200km or so out, we wait for the lone tengu to get nearly done with the sleeper site.

Down to the last sleeper, we warp right on top of him. He was kind enough to be 5k from a wreck, wasn't that sweet of him? I fast tackle, while my alt tags the sleeper for agro, and we dog-pile him. Three cloaky tengu, and a proteus against a sleeper tanked tengu.

Each of us had him webbed and scrammed, d-scanning like mad. Sa calls out "gaurdian, gaurdian, loki!" To bad I can't hear, so he types it in real quick. Think it was "grdian, grdian, LOKI!!!" hehe.

We finish off the tengu, and we warp off to our safes. No one loots!!! Would have been nice =(

Watching d-scan shows there are two groups of people in the hole. People with identical tags to our victim (no, missed the pod) and another group with differnt tags. Looking like they are sitting on holes we haven't found yet. HELLO! I just woke up, no I dont have the hole scanned ;-)

So we safe up, and wait out our timers and everyone gets some breakfast while I get to scanning. I resolve three incoming k162s and our statics. One of the k162s has a drake from our victims corp, and the other has a helios loitering... obvious bait is bait. The real kicker is, they are 20au from each other.

Since we are headed out on the motorcycle, we log out one-by-one. Four hours later, I see what happened! The orginial corp sent in a HAM legion to finish off the sleeper site. The second group tackles and kills him with prejudice. Then follows the first group back into thier hole, snags our original victim in a drake and kills him a second time.

Texts get sent out, that the hole is hot. We wait for ten hours before coming back in and finding the offending k162s gone. We form up, roll holes and harvest gas.

Great weekend EVE!
